About Us
My Story
Director - Debbie Blakeley
My story really starts with my first taste of adventuring round the world 31 years ago, where the first stop was Nepal. From then until now, Nepal found a big place in my heart and has never left. India was a country I always felt I'd like to visit but didn't get the chance on that world trip.

However, 5 years ago I got the chance to accompany some lady buyers on a 4-week trip to India taking in the Golden Triangle of Delhi Agra, Jaipur, Pushkar and the atmospheric Benares (Varanasi). Well, India slid into that part of my heart, alongside Nepal. The countries are very similar but have differences too, mainly due to the huge population of India. The population of Delhi stands today at 43,000,000 with just Nepal at an astounding 30,000,000!!

It was this visit with the lady buyers that introduced me to many wonderful traders, from street sellers to those with their own 'factories'. I got to know them personally, being invited to eat with them and their families, invited to special occasions and I keep in touch with them regularly when I return to the UK.

I love colour ... so I'm in the right place! From the jewelled colours of cobalt blue to dazzling gold and hot pink. I sell what I love ... I just couldn't wax lyrical and be passionate about items I had no feelings for. I appreciate the intricate work of the hangings made from sari's, to the bejewelled bags and chuni scarves, and the statues of the many Hindu and Buddhist gods, bought for wealth, prosperity and luck.

I really hope you feel this passion for colour and culture, in the items I choose to sell and those I seek out on every visit to the two countries of my heart.
My Story
Director - Saroj Sapkota
I was born in the beautiful Himalayan kingdom of Nepal, the land of peace, the 'Top of the World and the birth place of Gautama buddha.

I first met Debbie whilst helping her with the buying and supplying of goods, which has subsequently evolved into our business of Raani Ltd.
I am multilingual, a vital tool when organizing the outsourcing of goods from Nepal and India. I speak Nepali and Hindi and have been speaking English since my early school days. I have found this so helpful when having to monitor the quality of goods, managing time-frames and researching the origin of the products, to root level and being able to directly interact with the various manufacturers.
I also play an important role in ensuring we do not buy from any manufacturers involved in child slave labour and/or animal cruelty.
This wonderful business fulfils my dream of travelling the world and now being able to call the UK my home.

I truly hope you enjoy looking through our website as we share our treasures with you!

Helping those in Need
We try to help those most in need. Buying goods from Nepal and India generates income for poor people and certain percentage of profit goes to charity working in those countries. They help in sponsoring children and empowering women. So you are not just buying for yourself, you are also providing aid and support for the families in need.
